Lackawanna College President Dr. Jill Murray Named to Higher Education Power 100
SCRANTON, Pa. – May 3, 2022 – Lackawanna College President Dr. Jill Murray has been named to the City & State PA’s 2022 Higher Education Power 100, a list that recognizes the most powerful educators in Pennsylvania.
Since assuming her role as the first female president at Lackawanna College, and in her prior role as College’s Executive VP & Chief Innovation Officer, Dr. Murray has focused on college affordability and access for low-income students. She has implemented career-focused academic programs and pioneered award-winning college readiness pathways.
During her tenure, Dr. Murray has significantly increased enrollment numbers and improved retention and graduation rates. Under her leadership, the College has been recognized by the Chronicle of Higher Education as the fastest-growing private, nonprofit college in the United States. The college has also received recognition for the Level Up program, which received ‘The World’s Most Innovative Company’ Award from Fast Company Business Magazine.
