LACKAWANNA COLLEGE NAMED TO FAST COMPANY’S WORLD’S MOST INNOVATIVE COMPANIES LIST
SCRANTON, Pa. – March 9, 2021 –
Lackawanna College announced today that it has been included in Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies in 2021 for its Level Up program.
The Level Up program responds to the national crisis surrounding the increasing cost of higher education by providing the opportunity for students to earn an associate degree while in high school.
Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies list highlights businesses and organizations that have revolutionized their industries and molded their societies to be more positive and inclusive.
Lackawanna College ranked No. 9 in the Corporate Social Responsibility category, which recognizes corporate initiatives that meaningfully make a positive contribution to their community and stakeholders.
In the early 2020s, Fast Company asserted that innovation was more important than ever, and we would agree.
The costs of college have become astronomical for many students. Lackawanna’s Level Up program answers this challenge by helping high school students earn credits or even associate degrees with us for a fraction of the normal cost.
While enjoying these reduced rates, those high school students can become acclimated to college-level academics while still secure in their pre-college environments.
Our program saves high school students across the Northeastern Pennsylvania region some of the time and money it would normally take to enroll in college-level courses. Therefore, by the time the students become college-aged, they will have already completed some of their credits or even earned an associate degree, and all at a discounted rate.
Level Up program students also have access to Lackawanna’s academic advising and support services if they have any concerns or need guidance.
