Introducing Marc Gonzalez the Center for Technology Innovation’s New Executive Director
Lackawanna College’s newly-established Center for Technology Innovation (CTI) has named Dalton resident Marc Gonzalez as its executive director. In addition, Gonzalez is also serving as director of CTI’s Cyber Security Program.
Slated to launch in spring 2023, CTI will provide education and training in cutting-edge, technology-based fields on both a regional and national level. To prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow, CTI will offer undergraduate degrees, corporate training, and short-term, stackable certificates. Key areas of focus will be robotics & integrated technology, electric vehicles/advanced automotive, cybersecurity, and communications technology.
The holder of an MBA in finance and a bachelor’s in computer information systems, both from the University of Scranton, Gonzalez also is co-founder and chief operating officer for the compliance-focused, information technology services organization Site2. He is a Certified Information System Security Professional (ISC2) and a Certified Business Continuity Planner (DRII).
“The CTI will prepare students for future-proof careers by combining academics and technical, hands-on learning,” explains Lackawanna College President and Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Jill Murray. “As a result, Marc’s background both as an auditing and compliance professional and an IT entrepreneur make him uniquely qualified for the role of executive director.”
Gonzalez says: “We’ll be helping people in northeastern Pennsylvania and beyond become workforce ready. I find that remarkably compelling, because it means the education provided by the CTI will change lives and make prospects brighter for entire families.”
The CTI is now accepting enrollment in programs that will lead to careers in industries such as transportation and logistics, warehousing and distribution, industrial automation, and technology and communication. Additional details are available at Lackawanna.edu.
