SCRANTON – The Lackawanna College  R.O.C.K.E.T. Program donated school supplies to students of the third grade at the George Bancroft Elementary School, of the Scranton School District.

The R.O.C.K.E.T. Program, which stands for Registrar's Office Connecting with Kids through Educational Tools, was formed by the Lackawanna College registrar’s office this past spring to raise funds to provide school materials to students in need.  All third graders at the Bancroft School received a backpack with school supplies, and the school itself received items such as DVD players, playground balls and gym supplies that can be used by the whole student population at the school.

The funds were raised by raffles and donations provided by the staff of Lackawanna College as well as local businesses. For more information on the program, or to donate to R.O.C.K.E.T., contact Theresa Scopelitti, (570) 961-7840.
