Meet the Staff
Ms. Anita Cola, BS
Dean of Continuing Education
Anita Cola started her career in the field of adult education in 1990 as a volunteer at Lackawanna College in Scranton. Approximately two years later the College received grants from the PA Department of Education to provide Adult Basic Education classes. Anita was hired as an instructor for ABE, GED and ESL. In July 2000 she became Director of the Adult Education Department at the College. She currently holds the position of PAACE Secretary and is running for another term. Recently, Anita became the Director of Workforce Training.
Ms. Maggie Prudente, RN
Director of Allied Health Certificate Programs
Maggie has been working in the nursing field as a Registered Nurse for 33 years in various healthcare roles and facilities including Long-term care, Hospital and Home Health nursing. She holds a Train the Educator Certification from the Dept. of Education and was selected by the National Council of the State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) to serve as a member of the NNAAP Test Specifications committee. Maggie Co-author "Becoming a Medical Office Assistant Volumes 1-2-3 in 2005 and "Medical Terminology for Health Professionals" in 2003. Her Community Service activities include serving as a volunteer for UNICO.
Bridget Duggan, AS
Continuing Education Enrollment Manager
Ms. Duggan earned Associate Degree’s in Business Science/Human Services from Lackawanna College in May 1991. Ms. Duggan began her employment at Lackawanna College in 1990. During this time she has held various positions throughout the College. From 1990-1993, Ms. Duggan served as administrative assistant to the Offices of Development and Alumni Relations and served as Alumni Coordinator between 1994-1997. In 1997, Ms. Duggan joined the Office of Continuing Education as Administrative Assistant to the Paramedic Training Institute. In June 2002, Ms. Duggan was appointed Special Programs Manager to Continuing Education. Currently, she serves as Enrollment Manager for Continuing Education . In addition, she manages the College’s After School and Summer Youth programs.
Diane Parlanti
Training Accounts Manager/Instructor
Mrs. Parlanti has been employed at Lackawanna College since April 2001 after completing the Computer Skills Certificate program. She is certified as a Microsoft Office User Specialist. She is currently pursuing an Associate Degree in Business Administration at Lackawanna College.
Some of her duties include part-time instruction for the Computer Skills Training Program as well as a Training Accounts Manager and Instructor. She also manages the paperwork for the mentoring program. Mrs. Parlanti recently began working with the after school youth program assisting the Program Director.
Ms. Laurie Mielo – Office Manager/Special Programs Manager
Mrs. Mielo has been employed at Lackawanna College since November 2005. She serves as Office Manager/Special Programs Manager and Program Coordinator for the Nurse Aide Training Program. She also assists in the daily functions of the Department. |
