The growing demand for the courses and services offered by Lackawanna College and the need to offer these programs at a centrally located site compelled the College in recent years to expand its facilities. For Lackawanna to meet the challenge of providing quality education to an ever-increasing number of students and providing technologically advanced resources for a steadily multiplying range of programs, the relocation of the main campus in Scranton became necessary. This objective was accomplished in 1996.

Lackawanna College secured the optimum location to satisfy its diverse needs -- the former Central High School Building in downtown Scranton. In 1994, the College purchased this elegant, expansive structure and began a multi-million dollar renovation program aimed at restoring Central to the architectural splendor that it had displayed in the past. The ornate details, stately atmosphere, innovative legacy and intellectual heritage of the school help define the tradition of Lackawanna College. Although the renovation preserved the historical character of the public spaces in the building, the classrooms themselves are now prepared for the ultimate in high technology equipment. The renewed Central reflects its 19th Century origins in appearance and its 21st Century potential in its educational facilities.

In 1999, Lackawanna College renovated the elegant theater on its main campus and renamed it the Theater. This historic performing arts facility is utilized for College functions and is home to many of the area's arts organizations. Music, dance and dramatic presentations have all been featured in the comfortable 1048-seat theater, which is air conditioned for year-round use.

Lackawanna College has added several other buildings to the campus over recent years. The former Scranton Catholic Youth Center is now known as the Lackawanna College Student Union. The gymnasium on the second floors is the home for Falcon basketball and volleyball. It just finished phase 2 of a three-phase renovation which included new lighting, bleachers and ventilation. The first floor is the Student Union and a Fitness Center.

The former Keystone City Residence Building, which was at one time the Elks Building, is now Seeley Hall. It is located at 406 North Washington Avenue and has dorm space, administrative offices and the Seeley Memorial Library. At 440 Wyoming Avenue is the former Ukrainian Club which is now known as McKinnie Hall, named after NFL star and Lackawanna alum Bryant McKinnie. This houses a dorm and weight room. Behind the Student Union Building is Tobin Hall which is a male dorm.

The most recent piece added to the campus is the former Koch-Conley American Legion Post which is located at 415 North Washington Avenue. It is now known as the Healey Academic Center and houses classrooms, faculty offices, academic and continuing ed administration and Admissions. The Lackawanna College Kitchen is also located at the Healey Center.
